Strawberry Decor in the Kitchen
Source for cutout
I'm hoping to start my kitchen update in the next few weeks but I'm still searching for some ideas to incorporate my love of strawberries into my decor.
There doesn't seem to be a lot on the market which totally surprises me because I know people who are as crazy over strawberries as I am.
You can blame my mom and Strawberry Shortcake the cartoon for my addiction. It was her. It was. Really. I had the bedding, the towels, the dolls and even the playhouse growing up.
I love the original Strawberry Shortcake. The new one just doesn't cut it.
We've even named many of our goats after all of the characters in the cartoon and many future goats to be had will carry on the legacy.
So why is it so hard to find strawberry stuff?

Every kitchen needs a cookie jar so I'm on the hunt for one like this. I mean if you are going to have a cookie jar you might as well have one you like instead of a boring one right?

This little strawberry garland would look adorable over my cottage kitchen window.

Be still my heart....strawberry stamped walls.

Isn't this little strawberry sign so cute? I could nail together some fence pickets and make something like this.
Awww decisions decisions. I don't want my kitchen to look cheesy but I'm totally cool with a little strawberry madness.
Why not?
Life's short so have fun with it.
What do you love in your kitchen?
I'd love to hear.

Go for it. Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteI love a red and white kitchen so strawberries would be cute in there.....not too much, but just enough! The strawberry walls are cute. We had the ugliest, yellowed, old strawberry wallpaper on the ceiling of our kitchen when we moved in! Now it is cobalt and white with accents of dark green and red and I love it.
ReplyDeleteYour strawberry theme sounds like fun. I am more traditional I guess since my children grew up. I like lace and toile, which is what I have; very girly and pretty. But it is red and white. I hope you find some strawberry accessories. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen so it is important to have it looking the way we like. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
I have decorated my kitchen with strawberries for over 30+ years. Never get tired of red/white and strawberries. Antique stores/estate sales and yard sales are your best bet for finding items! The thrill of the hunt. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteDear Valerie:
ReplyDeleteStrawberries were a popular kitchen theme back in the 70's and I sure loved mine! I think you have a great idea. I remember how fun it was to walk in and see such HAPPINESS! Some very cute ideas here!

ReplyDeleteI don't have a theme for my kitchen, but I'm thinking that adding some strawberry pieces might be fun. So great for spring and summertime!
ReplyDeleteI was skeptical when I started reading this, that it would only work in a diner, not in a real house, but that picture of the strawberry stamped walls makes it seem like you could totally do it. I have always wanted to decorate my kitchen in vintage vegetable art, but haven't ever figured out how to do it right.
ReplyDeleteYou now have me wanting to decorate my kitchen with strawberries on the wall like that one image!
ReplyDeleteOmg do it it's adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd you can't beat a delectable berry lol
Wow, this is very different. I like it. I think it looks nice/lovely in the room you chose. If my husband ever saw this I think he would laugh at me haha..
ReplyDeleteHello Valerie,
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that you like Strawberry Shortcake! She's a cutey and I was also obsessed with strawberry designs during grade school. Now I'm obsessed with the actual strawberries and its colors. PS. that starwberry wallpaper looks good!

Ahhh! Memories! I used to LOVE my Strawberry Shortcake bedding and got so upset when my mother eventually got rid of it. I am about to call her and harass her about it lol.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You picked a fabulous day for that post (my birthday), lol.
That strawberry wallpaper is the best. I would totally do something like that if I owned a place. Good luck with the fun projects ahead!

What a cute idea. Very unique and original. Yup! You definitely should get a cookie jar to enhance the mood of your kitchen. I love it.
ReplyDeleteOMG I just love the strawberry look! I love apples so i have them everywhere. But now I may have to take a better look at strawberries.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of my grandparents home since they had lemons and limes as decor in their kitchen. I never would have thought to do strawberries, but the reds and pinks would be such fun colors!
ReplyDeleteI love those rustic wooden art pieces! As much as I would never have a kitchen full of strawberries, I have to say the walls covered in them is pretty cute!!
ReplyDeleteStrawberry is a cute idea for a design element! You could do some really cool strawberry stencils or sponge painting! I do love that wooden sign though! That is really awesome. I remember the old Strawberry Shortcake and how the doll smelled like strawberries.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I used to have the original Strawberry Shortcake, too! My mom decorated my bedroom with Strawberry Shortcake curtains, comforter, pillows, and more! I love this!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this, it's too cute! I've seen cherries, apples and grapes in kitchens, but I don't know that I've ever seen strawberries! Why is that?! Totally not fair -- strawberries are the best out of all of them. :)
ReplyDeleteVery interesting, good job, and thanks for sharing such a good blog.
