Organizing a Large Medicine Cabinet

My husband found our computer cord this morning. I couldn't believe it. It was in a large trash bag with a heating pad and who knows what else I won't get too until late next week after I finish painting. I want to share with you some of what I have started working on between waiting on temps to come up to paint. Our heat isn't hooked up yet and we are expecting the arctic freeze tomorrow. Doesn't look like it's going to happen for the next few days.

A few bags I did get unpacked were our toiletries. The house we had hauled onto our property is a little bit older and one of the charming things it came with is a large oversize medicine cabinet complete with 3 mirrors.  I love these things, great storage behind mirrors and I get to have good hair again  because I will be able to see the back of it.

With the 3 separate areas I wanted it organized so when someone at the house says I need some Ibuprofen, or my tummy hurts, or our overnight visitors forget their toothbrushes I can just send them back their and say get it out of the 1st 2nd or 3rd door.

Behind door #1 ( no this is not a game show but I would so love to be on one) is the bath and body stuff. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and baby soap.

Behind door #2 are the meds. I just love being able to walk in there and get what we need without having to dig through a drawer.  I don't know why so many new houses had to ditch the medicine cabinet and go with drawers.

Behind door #3 is all the beauty stuff. Hairspray, shaving, toothbrushes, nail polish remover, creams and perfume.

Just unpacking these few items have made such a difference. I don't feel like we are living out of luggage anymore.
So tell me what do you prefer drawers or shelves? Do you like medicine cabinets? I'd love to hear.

My Cottage Fresh Fridays series starts this Friday so you don't want to miss it.

Stay Warm this week....I'm out to help build a new goat house, caulk the well house, and yes bury 20 ft of water line before the arctic freeze. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

  1. We still have a medicine cabinet here... but it looks nowhere as organized as yours! : ) It's a cluster of make up, contact solutions and weird things stuffed in there. We always kept the actual medications in a small cupboard in the kitchen. : )
I can't believe it's time for cold weather already!!!

  10. It's been an age since we had a medicine cabinet. They certainly are useful and can hide a lot of stuff - why don't they make them any more???

  11. The house we live in now has a medicine cabinet but it's in an odd location. The previous owners installed it themselves since the house didn't come with it. My hubby and I want to redo our bathroom at some point and installing a medicine cabinet above each of our sinks is one of our goals!

  12. I am so bad at organization. Even when I start out doing a good job it always ends up so cluttered. My poor little medicine cabinet. lol
