For me, I have lots of hand-painted signs and I love them. This is my back door. Home Sweet Home, that's how I want to feel when I come home. Now we all know back door guests are always best so I gotta paint a sign for the outside.</span><br /> <span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;"><br /> </span><br /> <span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;">I never thought I would like having a fly swatter hanging by my back door but in an odd sort of way it's really handy. Over the Summer we had a few BBQ's and I was always telling my brother to go grab the fly swatter, finally he got so tired of it he grabbed a hammer and a nail and put it by the door. This is her buffet, it stores fine china and  many tablecloths, placemats, and napkin rings. If I could only count the number of times I set the table with her. It was so much fun. Sitting down to dinner and entertaining was so important to both my grandparents. When I think of the years I have spent in the kitchen it warms my heart. Baking cookies, learning how to make cornbread stuffing, giblet gravy, homemade pies and cobblers mmm I can still smell it now. The good news is I didn't make it and they won't let me clean it up. To Grandmother's House We Go

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div> <u></u><br /> <span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;">Perhaps it's possible my first love of decorating came from my mother but, I'm totally convinced my love of frugality came from my grandmother.</span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /> <span style="color: #cc0000;"></span></span><br /> <span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;">To this day my 89 year old grandmother has items that are in mint condition that have never been damaged that her parents have passed down to her.</span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /> <span style="color: #cc0000;"></span></span><br /> <span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;">About six weeks ago we made the decision to move her to assisted living and it was bitter sweet. Notice the filled in concrete steps my grandpa filled in when once my grandmother tripped on the way out to the guest house, to the 2nd set of ovens. He thought he was helping her but she wasn't too happy about it. She thought it was "unique" that the gravel was in between. They would also make sure I had ample access to cable tv and a radio in bed to listen to for when I wanted to rest.
