Knock...knock. Anybody still out there? I know I swore to you in June I'd be around more ...... but the darn internet companies have been determined to see to it that service gets worse in our area versus any better.
I've missed you...all of you....alot.
I have so much to tell you and so much exciting news and sad news that has happened at the farm.
Besides the obvious...we have Spring Fever....like much of America ... the never ending 4 seasons in a week is in full play right now in the good ole Sooner State.
Let's get the bad news out of the way first shall we?
7 of our goats died in a fire. Yes, 7. It was horrible. Came home and it was over. Nobody saw a thing. Burying 7 goats....all our girls and the babies and everyone ever born on the farm was horrible. It's taken awhile to process but that's that. Farm life can be hard. It was hard.
My hunky hubby...Mr.Wade celebrated another birthday. Yippee. That was a blessing considering he had a stroke 3 years ago this past Jan.
He still has the beard and it makes him look 10 years older than he is and he's already 11 years older than me.
The best news of it all... We are opening our very own farm store...right here on our farm. I've wanted to do this for a long time. A very long time. Like...since before we moved to the farm. Now the opportunity has presented itself and here it is.
Our farmstand is becoming a reality. Our little vegetable and flower farm will be open to the public soon.
Valentine's Day was sweet this year. The hubby bought me flowers, balloons and chocolate. I know... I know ....we live on a flower farm and he has to buy the stuff. In all fairness though....it's Winter...nada thing is in bloom...yet.
Finally my dad's little "Short Stuff" crossed the rainbow bridge after years and years of living with him.
Some of you may remember we lost my stepmom a year ago August and Short Stuff was her sidekick.
We promised we'd all be super good to him and see him through to the end. It was hard. But he's by her side again.
When I get sad I just remember that and it helps.
Even with all the heartbreak this month...there is so much to look forward to. A real live dream coming true.
A real live store at the actual farm.
We will still go to some other locations to sell our goods but you can actually pull up in our driveway and buy stuff that was made and grown here.
How cool is that?
For us....it's super cool.
I can't wait to share with you all the exciting plants and flowers, food and homemade stuff we do here at the farm.
The decorating, the crafts and all the fun that makes cottage living on a farm our little dream come true.
Now....please catch me up....what have you been up to?
xoxoxo,
Valerie
