Update - My New Decorating Project

It's only been 8 weeks since I've given you an update on my new decorating project. It's taken forever to get this far. Getting carpenters to the middle of nowhere isn't easy. He is almost done with the front and back decks and I can hardly wait to start the fun part....decorating it. Picture furniture, hanging baskets, flower pots and a flag. I've already been planting around the deck and the carpenter. A girl can only be patient for so long and we needed to be able to use the rain to our advantage.

The deck was quite the project....since we had to include a ramp so one of the owners could get in. It is pretty steep but she can get herself up and down it with her mobile scooter. Having independence is important to her.

This is the picture of the true master bedroom.... It's so small. One of the other bedrooms is much bigger but this one has it's own bathroom.  It's amazing what a woman will give up in order to have her own bathroom. As soon as the carpenter finishes the two decks I have him starting on adding a closet in this room. Since there is no real wow factor is this room I decided to add a little wow with the upcoming closet. The view from those double windows is beautiful. We used an old desk that is going to double as a nightstand, desk and dressing table. Since the room is small we need some of the furniture pieces to serve multiple purposes. Pops of red will be all over this room shortly.

I love the couch. We went for a slip covered look with some nice blue and turquoise accent pillows to add some much needed pops of color. We ordered the curtains and they have arrived but we don't have them hung up yet.

The owners inherited this entertainment center so we are going to roll with it. Once the weather warms up we are going to paint the paneled wall the same shade of blue that is on the pillows. It will really give the room some much needed color and make it appear to be bigger.

This is the main bathroom and the previous owner added these glass shower doors but the current owner is handicapped and they just won't work. They are getting replaced with one of those rods that bump out and we ordered a colorful shower curtain that is so fun. I'm really excited about the accessories for this bathroom. The choices include a beach theme.

This is the 3rd bedroom and it's going to double as a craft room / office. It's small but it's going to be so cute.  Who doesn't want to do crafts on vacation or have a place to sit and use their computer? This cute little table in the corner is going to get painted and the curtains have been ordered and they are so bright and fun. They will definitely add personality to this room. It already had a chalkboard on the wall so we just need to find an eraser. Do you know how hard it is to find an eraser in the country? Hard....very very hard.

This is the 3rd and final bedroom.  As you can see there is no central air in the lil cabin, only room air conditioners. The owner inherited some furniture pieces from his deceased mom and brought them down so we have decided to make them work. The carpenter is going to work on the closet in this room too. I haven't really made any real plans in this room yet because I've been so busy ordering and measuring in the other ones.

Pardon the banana boxes. This will be a man's room so it will definitely have a masculine feel to it. I have most of the furniture in position just have to shop for a bed and bring a dresser over. The window directly over the bed is going to pose a bit of a problem but I think I have a workable solution for it. We're just ordering a full bed for this room so it's the only real place to put it and fit the other pieces.

So there you have it in a nutshell. The carpenter has to finish his part in order for us to move forward.

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am about the kitchen and dining area and what I have hanging in the main hallway.... but you are going to have to wait awhile to see it.

Next up closets and ceiling fans.Yep I know people don't think ceiling fans are pretty but believe me in 100+ degree temps in Oklahoma during Summer...there is not a single soul who cares about how pretty they are or not. They just want to survive the Summer and the heat.

So what have you been working on?

I'd love to hear.
