A Pretty Valentine's Porch

Oh how I love this wreath. We used to carry it in my home interior store. I grabbed an extra one to take home with me years ago and hung it on my mom's front door. Oh the memories! So many lovely comments about this red berried wreath over the years.

It was the first thing my brother handed me from my mom's house and pretty much said, "your taking this home."

So up it went on my new "rental" front porch.

Here's the before of our oddly shaped front porch.

Kind of Blah!!!

Here's the after. Much better don't you think?

There is never a great time that the sun isn't shining on this house that doesn't produce a glare in the pictures.

This house has a lot of sunshine.

The first thing I added was our cute little welcome home sign. Can you believe this little flag made it through our house fire!

You know I couldn't resist sticking it out there.

Even a few of my pots made it through the fire, they were out in the yard though. I also picked up the wire topiary from my mom's house, she loved it and so do I! I see lots of pretty things growing on it come Spring.

My adorable little bench was a curbside find. I redid it in a nice wine color. It was on our porch during the fire and picked up a terrible odor and although it has aired out quite a bit in our garage I think hauling it to the front porch and some fresh air and warm sunshine will do the trick. I bought some red spray paint to update it. The foam they use during the fire left it stained. Truth be told it looks lovely out here and with an old metal flower can with hearts and my new little snowman sign it really adds a feeling of charm when you come to the door.

A dear friend brought me over several Christmas decorations and a Christmas Tree after the fire and in it was this shiny garland.

It works great draped over the bench to add some Valentine's cheer.

A little black rug on the front step and voila, a Valentine's porch for absolutely nothing.

Happy Monday,

Valerie

  13. I love your front door. The wreath will be a perfect addition. I think I may have visited here before, I seem to remember your mom's passing. (Just a prayer away, I say.) Cute snowman you made with your grandmother, perfect for St. Patrick's Day. Visiting from Sunny Simple Sunday. xo

  18. So festive for Valentines Day. I do not have many valentines decorations for the house. Mostly just some door wreaths. I need to do more = the kids would love it.
