Homemade Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce

My lovely new neighbors were kind enough to bring us over some homemade salsa and offered to let me pick as many tomatoes as I wanted out of there HUGE tomato garden.

I couldn't resist.

I've been dying to try and experiment making my own crockpot spaghetti sauce, and I did.

First I rinsed my tomatoes ( about 15 small medium and large size ones)  in lots of water and started slicing them up to look like this. Aren't they pretty?

No, I didn't eat like half of them with a little  Greek Seasoning or anything while I was  trying to get the sauce ready.

Next, I added 2 bay leaves, salt, pepper, Italian Seasoning, Greek Seasoning, parsley  and 1 tsp. of garlic to taste to my mix and then covered the pot with the lid.

I set the setting on low.

Leave it alone for 4-6 hours depending on how chunky you like your sauce..

Now add just another dash of salt when you mix.

Serve over your favorite noodles.

Now for me I added just about 1/4 cup of sauteed onions and 11b. of cooked ground turkey to my mix and about 1/4 cup of tomato sauce for some extra umfff.

Freeze the extra sauce.

Enjoy Dining In,

Valerie
